A Father and His Girls
Every fall for the past three years, I’ve taken the same photograph: a dad with his two little girls. Nothing elaborate, just the three of them together.
And every year, the photo changes.
The first year, they were small enough to curl up easily in his arms, giggling as he held them close. The second year, their legs stretched a little farther, their grins a little wider, their personalities starting to shine through. And this year? They practically sprinted into the frame, tumbling onto his knees with all their wild energy - still just as eager to claim their spot with Dad, but in a way that makes it clear: time isn’t slowing down.
And that’s the thing about family photos. They don’t stop your children from growing - but they do pause life long enough to remind you how fleeting each stage really is. They freeze time in a way our busy, everyday lives never can.
For me, that’s what lifestyle family photography is all about. It isn’t just about one beautiful image (though you’ll get plenty of those). It’s about telling your family’s story, chapter by chapter. It’s about giving you something you’ll hold in your hands ten years from now when backpacks and bedtime stories have been traded for car keys and late-night talks.
Because the truth is, the days feel long, but the years? They fly. And photos are the proof that you were here, together, in this exact moment.
