What is a fine art school portrait?
Fine Art School Portraits are a modern approach to school photos. No more cheesy smiles with strange backgrounds. The background will be black and the photos will be simple and classic. Instead of forcing a cheesy grin, the children will be encouraged to be themselves.

What should my child wear?
Solid colors photograph best! Please avoid large logos, busy patterns, black or white shirts, and neon colors, as they can distract from your child’s portrait. Since all photos are taken from the shoulders up, the top half of your child’s outfit matters most.
What does photo day look like?
Each child will spend a couple minutes with me while I capture a handful of natural expressions. The process is quick, easy, and comfortable. I use gentle prompts and lighthearted jokes to help kids relax and let their personalities shine. It keeps the day moving smoothly while making sure every portrait feels genuine.
How will I view my child's images?
Within two weeks of photo day, you will receive an email from your school with a link to your school's gallery. Each child will have their own album with multiple images in both color and black and white.
For added privacy, you can request your child's gallery to be password-protected by emailing me before photo day at sam@samjacksonphotography.com.
How do I order digitals and prints?
From your gallery, you can easily order digital files and prints directly online. The ordering process is simple, secure, and designed to make things easy for busy families. There is no obligation to purchase!
I place all print orders together to keep costs low for families. After the initial 7 day ordering window closes, you can still place orders through your child’s gallery, but orders will be shipped directly to your home and shipping costs will be added at checkout.
There’s no minimum order during the initial ordering window, if one favorite print is all you want, that’s perfectly fine!
When will I receive my portraits?
Digital files are delivered via email after you complete your purchase. Print orders will be delivered directly to the school within three weeks of the gallery closing and sent home with students.
